After starting the season with a shaky first weekend, the Oakland Soldiers battled their way all the way back to bracket play despite having a rotation that doesn't exceed eight players. Essential to their run has been a focus on defense, and smart decision-making on the offensive end, especially by lead guard James Akinjo.
For E1T1, their model has been similar over the last few seasons, but the emergence of Will Richardson as one of the best all-around guards on the circuit has been a major boost in North Augusta. The heated matchup between two Peach Jam veterans, Soldiers Taeshon Cherry and E1T1’s Emmitt Williams, will take center stage in the frontcourt as both are outstanding two-way players. This will be an extremely fun battle between two powerhouse programs, but the edge probably goes to head coach Steve Reece and E1T1, who rattled off a 5-0 pool play record.
