Junior Elijah Taylor is set to start at center for Team Final in 2019, and the Imhotep Charter (PA) should have a standout spring and summer for the Philadelphia-based EYBL affiliate.

The 6-foot-97Taylor (247 No. 137) plays with an energy and a motor that should catch the eyes of college coaches, and he’ll need to play efficient defense without fouling against the nation’s best big men.

Taylor nearly averaged a double-double during the 2018-19 high school season and put up 16 points and seven rebounds in Imhotep Charter’s state championship win.

We caught a quick preseason conversation with the Team Final big man, addressing a variety of topics.

Q: Who is your favorite athlete in any sport and why?

Elijah Taylor: I don’t really have one, but if I had to choose, it’d be Giannis Antetokounmpo because of his passion and genuine love for the game.

If there’s anything else you could do besides ball with your career what would it be?

ET: Psychiatrist.

What’s one aspect of your game you feel is underrated?

ET: My physicality.

What are you looking for in a program at the next level?

ET: A place where I can grow as an intellectual and an athlete.

What’s your favorite pregame or post game meal?

ET: Wings, after games.

What will be your role with Final this year?

ET: A leader, just like last year

Where do you see yourself in 20 years on or off the court?

ET: Not sure quite yet!

Which NBA player do you most study?

ET: I just try to take what I can, whether it’s moves or mindset.
