Jabri Abdur-Rahim (247 Composite No. 58) is the son of long-time NBA veteran Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and Jabri has a lot of his father’s game. Abdur-Rahim was named Gatorade State Player of the Year as a junior, averaging 16 points and seven rebounds while shooting over 50% from the floor for New Jersey powerhouse Blair Academy. Abdur-Rahim is a member of the USA Basketball mini-camp roster, and will undoubtedly be a go-to guy as he suits for the Playaz in the 2019 Nike EYBL.

We caught up with the junior before the season and asked him a variety of questions about his upcoming trip on the circui.

Q: What have you heard about the Nike EYBL?

Jabri Abdur-Rahim: I have heard the EYBL is the truth. That’s where the best players play and I love competition so i’m excited to get out there and compete.

What are your expectations heading into the 17U circuit?

JAR: My expectations are to win. I want to win it all and have the best team in the EYBL and I want to be the best player on the circuit this year.

How would you describe yourself on the court?

JAR: I would describe my game as versatile. I can do a lot of different offensively, I can guard multiple positions and make people around me better.

What’s been something you’ve been looking to add to your game?

JAR: Something I’ve been looking to add to my game is a stronger off hand and being able to guard every position on the floor.

What are your goals with the Playaz this year?

JAR: My goal is for us to win Peach Jam and be the best team in the country.
