The 2019 Nike Elite Youth Basketball season is officially upon us, and the 10th year of the circuit should be better than ever.

With the new season and influx of talent, now is a perfect time to introduce The Circuit Star Index (CSI) - a new team rating system based on the number and quality of 247Sports-ranked recruits on each team.

In total, 160 recruits ranked by 247Sports in the 2020 and 2021 classes will be running on the circuit - an average of four per team. Vegas Elite (NV) and Team Takeover (DC) lead the field with nine ranked players on their roster.

Check out a detailed breakdown of how the new rating system operates, and scroll down to check out each EYBL team's CSI score.

How it works:

247 Sports' delegates a 5-star, 4-star, or 3-star rating to each player in their class rankings.

The total number of 'stars' are added up for each EYBL team. For example, the Vegas Elite has nine ranked players equalling 37 stars (two 5-stars, six 4-stars & one 3-star).

Once a total number of stars is tallied for each team, that number is divided that number by four, which is the EYBL average (160 / 40) of 247-ranked recruits on each team.

Keeping with the Vegas Elite example, that would put them at a score of 9.25 (37 / 4).

In order to reward teams with more ranked players on their roster, the total number of 'star' ranked players on their team is added to that number. For Vegas Elite, the tally would be 18.25 (9.25 + 9).

Finally, 5-star recruits, top-10 recruits, and top-5 recruits are all awarded an extra point. Vegas Elite has two 5-stars, two top-10 recruits, and one top-5 recruit, giving them an extra five points and a total of 23.5.

That final number is divided by 50, which is the maximum amount of points a team can score (10 5-star recruits).
