The Favorite:

Led by regular season Most Valuable Player Cade Cunningham and fellow top-five ranked junior Greg Brown III, the Texas Titans put together the most impressive regular season in the league, and they will enter the Peach Jam as the league favorite to win the crown. Cunningham is one of the most versatile players in the country, and if he's performing up to pay, the Titans become an extremely tough 'out'. All-Breakout selection JaKobe Coles and point guard Mike Miles enjoyed standout springs, and if they can continue producing in their roles, the Titans should feel great about their chances to realize their overall potential.

The Contenders:

The PSA Cardinals are entering their first Peach Jam without Cole Anthony in three years, and they'll be riding on the veteran leadership of AJ Hoggard and Richie Springs. Top-to-bottom, there aren't many rotations that are as deep and talented as head coach Munch Williams' bunch, and 5-star sophomore AJ Griffin is set to return after missing the final session for USA Basketball. Springs, Franck Kepnang, and Josh Gray form a physically-imposing frontline, and their productivity might be the difference-maker in advancing to bracket play.

Team Durant is the hottest team entering Peach Jam, fresh off a 5-0 season-closing performance in Dallas. Earl Timberlake, Ishmael Leggett, Ace Baldwin, and Darius Maddox are a deep, talented backcourt that should keep Durant competitive in every game. Their lack of size will undoubtedly be a setback, and they will need big man Caleb Dorsey, Paul Smith, and Tegra Izay to be at their best.

The Sleeper:

Houston Hoops came on strong late in the season, and managed to go wire-to-wire with the Texas Titans in a narrow loss. The Hoops have the weakest record (8-5) in the pool, but if they regain the services of top 75 point guard & Baylor commit LJ Cryer alongside Tramon Mark, Langston Love and Braelon Bush, they become a deep, well-rounded backcourt that should give the opposition fits. They have a relative lack of size, but that became less of a problem as the season progressed. The addition of top-50 sophomore big man Arthur Kaluma after session one was hugely important, and when paired with the emergence of fellow sophomore Duece Fatheree, the Hoops should feel plenty comfortable about their frontcourt against the rest of Division A.

Quick Hitters:

  • Pool A teams combined to put up a 55-23 record during the 2019 EYBL regular season, and there are some sure-fire stars among the six squads.
  • Team Durant (9-4) and the Alabama Fusion (9-4) are both making their 17-and-under EYBL debut after competing at least year's E16 Peach Jam.
  • July 10th will make the first game in three years that the PSA Cardinals (NY) will play without Cole Anthony at Peach Jam.
  • Houston Hoops will regain the services of point guard LJ Cryer. The top-75 Baylor commit missed the regular season with an ankle injury.
  • Seattle Rotary Style is making their second consecutive trip to Peach Jam after missing the tournament for seven straight seasons.
