NIKE EYB is officially launching their pools this evening, and there was a giant surprise right off the bat.

The Nike Phamily (CA), headlined by Marvin Bagley III, secured a wildcard berth in Pool A, despite a 2-14 regular season record.

The move marks the first time a team with fewer than seven wins has qualified for Peach Jam.

Team Melo is set to make their debut at Peach Jam, coming in as the No. 4 seed in Pool A. Joining them are Howard Pulley, the number one overall seed, and MOKAN Elite. The two squads played an epic last game of pool play in 2016, won by eventual champions Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr. and MOKAN.

Pool B gave us the second two wildcards, Boston's BABC (10-6) and Dallas' RM5 (9-7). Both are deserving of a bid and will be strong candidates to make some noise in pool play. BABC continues their run as the only NIKE squad to qualify for Peach Jam in each year of it's existence, while RM5 qualifies for the Peach Jam for the first time.

Pool C threw in another twist, featuring a play-in game between Team Final (7-9) and Nike Team Florida (8-8). Both squads are stocked full of talent, which should make for a terrific Pool C play-in game.

The final pool features the red-hot Bradley Beal Elite Eagles, winners of eight straight, as well as star-studded California Supreme.

Stay tuned for our All-EYBL awards, as well as our Peach Jam Preview Magazine dropping at the end of June.
