July 11

PSA Cardinals (NY) vs. No. 5 Houston Hoops (TX)

In the first matchup of the weekend, a pair of First-Team EYBL guards will go head-to-head  as PSA's Cole Anthony (No. 2) and Houston Hoops' Tyrese Maxey (No. 7) will take the floor against one another for the first time in 2018. Although both of these guards are freakishly gifted offensively, the focus will be on the defense. Anthony took home 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Honors, and Maxey took home 2018's award last week. Not only does this contest feature Anthony vs. Maxey, but PSA & Houston Hoops combine to feature 11 players in Rivals 2019 & 2020 rankings.

Wednesday's opening night gives us a battle of the top two ranked big men in the country.  NTF's Vernon Carey (No. 1) & Bluff City's James Wiseman (No. 3) will go to battle behind extremely talented supporting casts, and it should result in one of the best head-to-head matchups of the evening. Carey and Wiseman are both focal points of their offense, so it will be intriguing to see which 2019 star comes out on top. Honestly, the matchup between these two is worth the price of admission.
